The sample document is an actual letter which typfies the problems of editing translated works. This aspiring graduate school student had a letter translated to send to a graduate program in North Carolina, but the letter was clearly in too rough a form to be sent. During the editing process, I kept the original literal intent as well as the particular tone and expressions of the author, while making the letter follow the correct academic format and easily understood English usage that would be expected by a graduate school admissions committe.

UNEDITED ERRORS UNDERLINED At one end of the closure a dead-in notch 12 is which terminate in gripping points 16 and leads to a hole 14.
